Biography
ELIJAH MC is a unique talent who creates dubwise tracks using just the sound of his own voice. Using live vocal loop samples, he builds a track from the ground up - layering beats, basslines, backing vocals and FX on top of each other, and then adding his sweet golden singing voice or reggae-style chat.
He is a songwriter thats played around various gigs and festival in bands, but recently begun to work solo to build conscious dubwise tracks from start to finish. Influenced by many reggae artists and drum and bass MCs and combining inspiration from Beardyman and Dub FX for the way they use live loops. Although using beat boxing for many of his tracks Elijah is considered more a singer songwriter using beat boxing as another tool.
He's also recently been working with the incredible brighton based Scratch DJ champion JFB, a long time collaborator with beardyman who has remixed Elijah's track 'Ruffneck' released on sludge records peaking at #12 in the dubstep charts. Elijah is now know as the 2012 BOSS loop UK champion finalist and has appeared on BBC introducing the south, and also been selected by MTV brand new for 2012 as a potential hot artist for this coming year.
