Known For
- Began as resident MC and beatboxer for the London dance night Chew the Fat! at The End and frequently performed live at Fabric. There he became known for his human beatbox skills and energetic live performances.
- Fronted the live breakbeat act Atomic Hooligan (album of the year 2006 at International Breakspoll Awards) as well as MC'd for breakbeat DJs such as Eddy Temple-Morris, Rennie Pilgrim, Paul Arnold the Stanton Warriors and DJ Hyper.
- Pioneered the use of the loopstation and the kaoss pad for beatboxing and began touring his one-man loops show all over the world, musically moving away from breakbeat towards a more cross-genre electronica sound.
- Won the Humanbeatbox.com layering competition for his track 'evoked from the throat'.
- Performs regularly at the UK summer festivals, including Glastonbury, Glade, Secret Garden Party.
- Long-standing member of seminal music and spoken word collective, One Taste.
- Apart from his beatboxing, Xander is known for the range of high vocals he uses in his work; particularly the high singing in falsetto and whistle register which adds an ‘ethereal’ choral quality to his sound.
- His debut all-vocal album Eyeopeness, is being released in February 2011.
- Occasionally can be seen disturbing the peace with his impromptu battery-powered beatbox street parties.
- Has run vocal workshops for the past 4 years.
